Nearing record heat this afternoon - CM 🥵
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Get ready for another hot one. Near-record highs are expected Thursday, despite the fact that the morning starts out comfortably.
Highs reach 80 to 85 in the mountains and 85 to 90 elsewhere.
We’ll fall just a few degrees shy of that Friday.
Scattered evening thunderstorms will become a possibility.
THE WEEKEND
Moisture increases Saturday, setting off some off-and-on rain.
The heaviest/most widespread activity happens later on into Sunday morning, and most of that will be near and east of Roanoke.
Sunday afternoon’s rain and storms look scattered.
Highs this weekend will be in the 70s.
NEXT WEEK
Each day next week holds the chance for scattered afternoon and evening storms, in a pattern that’s more typical of summer. Lows will be in the 60s, and highs will mostly be in the 80s.
