ROANOKE, Va. – With the Days Inn on Orange Avenue closing soon, there is a concern for some people experiencing homelessness who stayed there because of the affordable prices.
The Rescue Mission of Roanoke has already welcomed some guests who used to stay in hotels, like the Ramada and Days Inn in Roanoke and are prepared and happy to welcome more.
“We encourage anybody who thinks they can benefit from our services: food, shelter, job skills training, addiction recovery, medical services. We encourage those folks to come on by the mission, visit our main reception area and we will guide you to wherever you need to be or wherever you need help,” said Kevin Berry, Rescue Mission of Roanoke Community Outreach and Marketing Manager.
Berry said the Mission is serving about 180 people each night who are visiting for their services of shelter.
