LYNCHBURG, Va. – As in-person learning resumes this week in Lynchburg, not everyone is happy about it.
One parent started an online petition against the city’s ‘Return to Learn’ initiative due to concerns about rising COVID-19 cases.
Right now, students are on a hybrid schedule.
“We just want what’s best and what is needed – not wanted but needed. Everybody in the world wants to go back to work. Everybody in the world wants to go back into the classroom and be with their students, be with their teachers, and go back to life as normal. But we have to be patient with this,” said Anna Smith, who created the petition.
She said she was also planning a protest by blocking school buses before they left to pickup children, but decided to cancel it.
