PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Pulaski man charged with assaulting an 81-year-old woman in early June was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Tuesday.
Aaron Sharp Jr., 18, was initially charged with felony malicious wounding; however, that charge was reduced to misdemeanor assault in a Pulaski County courtroom.
The judge found Sharp guilty of pushing Mildred Arner to the ground as she was walking to her car after attending a birthday party.
As WSLS 10 previously reported, Arner's great-grandson ran to the rescue, stopped the attack and held Sharp until police arrived.
Arner was treated at the hospital and released.
