Leiter, the son of 19-year big league pitcher Al Leiter, walked Braylen Wimmer to lead off the game but was perfect the rest of the way in a 5-0 victory over South Carolina. Rocker and Leiter are considered the top pitching prospects for Major League Baseball's 2021 draft. Rocker struck out 14 Gamecocks in a 3-2 win Friday night and has an 0.58 ERA.

8 Alabama came from behind to beat Vanderbilt 82-78 Saturday and move a step closer to a Southeastern Conference championship. Maxwell Evans made a layup with four seconds left to pull to within 81-78 after rebounding a missed 3. After a quick Vandy foul, Quinerly missed one free throw and made another to clinch it. Quinerly scored 15 points for the Tide, which made just 10 of 39 3-point attempts (25.6%). Scotty Pippen Jr. scored 24 points and made 12 of 14 free throws for Vanderbilt.

___George Washington’s men’s basketball team is postponing two upcoming Atlantic 10 games after head coach Jamion Christian tested positive for COVID-19. ___The Kennesaw State women’s volleyball team called off the first two games of its spring season because of positive COVID-19 tests. The league says the postponement is because of a combination of positive COVID-19 tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining inside the Vanderbilt program. ___Rutgers women’s basketball has postponed home games on Thursday against Penn State and Sunday against Iowa. Rutgers has not announced any recent positive tests, but it cannot play because of protocols outlining a return to competition after positive COVID-19 tests among Tier 1 individuals.

Radford falls short against Vanderbilt on Saturday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Radford men’s basketball team fell short against Vanderbilt on Saturday night and dropped a 59-50 contest in Memorial Gym. Radford shot 46.2 percent from the floor in the first half and held Vanderbilt to just 34.4 percent. Then Radford cut the lead to three points, 47-44, at the 6:39 mark thanks to Shaquan Jules and Dante Moses. Radford led in bench points, 29-11. Radford turned the ball over 19 times and Vanderbilt scored 17 points off the turnovers.

The school had paused basketball activities last Tuesday and canceled its home game with Wofford scheduled for last Thursday. AP sources: Vandy negotiating to hire Clark Lea as coach
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt is negotiating a deal with Notre Dame defensive coordinator Clark Lea to make the former Commodores player its new head coach. The 38-year-old Lea is a Nashville native who played baseball at Birmingham-Southern and Belmont before walking on as a fullback at Vanderbilt, where he played from 2002-04. He started coaching at UCLA and also has coached at South Dakota State, Bowling Green, Syracuse and Wake Forest. SEC revamps December schedule to make up for postponed games
Patterson)The Southeastern Conference has announced a revamped schedule for Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, including Vanderbilt's game at No. The rescheduled games announced Friday were made necessary following postponements due to the SEC's COVID-19 protocols. This week, 12 of 56 games scheduled were postponed or canceled. Among other games on the new Dec. 19 schedule, the same day as the SEC championship game, are Texas A&M at Tennessee, rescheduled from Nov. 14. The Vanderbilt-Georgia and Texas A&M-Tennessee games would not be played if the Bulldogs and Aggies, respectively, qualify for the SEC championship game.
Virus wreaking havoc on SEC with Saban now testing positive
