Current weather conditions

ROANOKE, Va. – Compared to recent days, the current weather in Southwest and Central Virginia is looking much better. Temperatures are hovering in the 30s with the bulk of the precipitation now out of the area. As a result, the Weather Authority Alert Day has been cancelled.
After the Cold Front:
In the wake of the passing cold front, we will stay dry and breezy. Wind speeds will increase this afternoon, gusting around 15-20mph.
A few clouds will stick around this afternoon as well, but we will still see more sunshine than cloud cover.
7-Day Forecast

As we glance at the week ahead, high temperatures are expected to stay in the 40s and 50s, suggesting milder weather in the short term. However, another weather-maker is on the horizon for this weekend.
