Warm temperatures...for now

Rain expected again later in the week

ROANOKE, Va. – It was a warm start to the week for us all, as temperatures climbed into the 60s for many. This unseasonably warm weather is making things quite comfortable for now. As we move into Tuesday, expect highs to reach the 50s and 60s making it another day of mild weather...and another day of above average temperatures.

Rain on the horizon

We are dry on Tuesday and most of Wednesday too. It’s really Wednesday night into Thursday when all of us will get wet again. It will be a very chilly day on Wednesday with highs only in the 30s and 40s. And that could set the stage for a little bit of freezing rain and/or sleet in the mountains come Thursday morning. But, temperatures will rebound on Thursday, once again reaching the 60s. We should briefly dry out on Friday, with a little more sun in the forecast. However, another frontal boundary will impact us this weekend, bringing another round of some passing showers. It does NOT look like a washout on Saturday or Sunday, but it’d also be wise to have your umbrella handy both days. That unsettled weather may linger into next week. A temperature roller coaster is in the forecast for all of us for at least the next week or so.
