ROANOKE, Va. – Another front moves in later Thursday and brings some much-needed rain to parts of Southwest and Central Virginia.

Before the rain moves in Thursday evening, our temperatures reach back into the 50s Thursday afternoon with a couple of spots getting into the 60s.

Right around sunset, we will start to see the rain move into western portions of the state. By 7 p.m., isolated showers are trekking across the region.

Here is a look at Friday morning. You will want to keep the rain gear handy as you head out the door Friday morning.

How much rain could we see? Anywhere between .25 and 1.5 inches of rain are possible over the course of this event.

And while January started off really cold, it has warmed up quite a bit in the past week or so.

The warm trend continues as we head into the month of February this weekend!
