ROANOKE, Va. – We are tracking temperatures close to the 50s all week long for the majority of Southwest and Central Virginia.
Wind advisories are in place until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Once this expires, our winds will start to calm little by little before returning on Wednesday.
Here is a look at your bi-hourly wind forecast for the day. Gusts peak Tuesday morning and become lighter later on.
High temperatures are up! A lot of us get into the 50s Tuesday afternoon with areas in Southside reaching the mid to upper 50s.
The slightly warmer trend sticks around for the rest of this week. The Roanoke Valley is forecast to see mid-50s each afternoon, with some spots potentially seeing higher temperatures.
As we look at the overall pattern, we are tracking high pressure that brings sunny skies to the region for the next several days.
Eventually, an area of low pressure rejoins the large-scale flow and brings the chance for rain across the country.
This system arrives by Thursday night and lasts through Friday. Rain totals will likely be near a quarter inch for most in the region.
