ROANOKE, Va. – It will be a great day to take the kids to the park, go on a walk, or even head out for a picnic! Lots of sunshine is making this all possible today!
Temperatures get into the 50s again this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies for much of the day, then a series of upper level clouds move through in the early evening.
Storms across the southeast today. We are avoiding these storms because of a strong high pressure system to our north. This is pushing the rain and storms to the south.

The next couple of days will be fantastic for the outdoors. If you are an outdoors person, hiking will be near perfect for the week ahead.
Temperatures get back down into the twenties and thirties tonight. Patchy frost will develop by Monday morning.
While high pressure is going to dominate and keep the majority of the east coast sunny and warm this week, we are keeping an eye on the storm track. The end of the week will likely bring rain chances across the east coast.
Until late in the week, high pressure stays overhead and brings in mild temperatures.
