This week brings mild temperatures and mostly clear skies

High pressure is bringing clear skies and blocks out chances of rain.

A great day for the park!

ROANOKE, Va. – It will be a great day to take the kids to the park, go on a walk, or even head out for a picnic! Lots of sunshine is making this all possible today!

High temperatures in each zone

Temperatures get into the 50s again this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies for much of the day, then a series of upper level clouds move through in the early evening.

Storms for the southeast today

Storms across the southeast today. We are avoiding these storms because of a strong high pressure system to our north. This is pushing the rain and storms to the south.

A great couple of days for the outdoors!

The next couple of days will be fantastic for the outdoors. If you are an outdoors person, hiking will be near perfect for the week ahead.

Cooling down again

Temperatures get back down into the twenties and thirties tonight. Patchy frost will develop by Monday morning.

Watching the storm track

While high pressure is going to dominate and keep the majority of the east coast sunny and warm this week, we are keeping an eye on the storm track. The end of the week will likely bring rain chances across the east coast.

Warmer than average temperatures this week

Until late in the week, high pressure stays overhead and brings in mild temperatures.
