ROANOKE, Va. – A weak front passes through the region Thursday night, sparking very isolated showers. Outside of that, Thursday’s a slightly warmer and slightly more humid day.
Once that front passes, however, the humidity drops off by quite a bit Friday and Saturday.
This will lead to a very cool Saturday morning. You can probably get away with turning the A/C off at that point!
Don’t get too comfortable with that, however. A strong area of high pressure will set up camp over the Upper Midwest starting Sunday.
The sinking air associated with this system will lead to a heat wave across the Eastern U.S. Highs will reach well into the 90s Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Storm chances will be very limited, so we’ll need to watch that in case of drought or drought-like conditions in the next one-to-two weeks.
