ROANOKE, Va. – The first two days of summer have felt more like mid-fall, as temperatures have struggled to even hit 70 degrees.
Thursday’s highs only reached the 60s, which is the average for early November.
Heading into Friday, we’ll see the return of some warmth. That, along with humidity and a storm system nearby, will be the catalyst for scattered afternoon showers and storms.
That will also be the case Saturday, with afternoon temperatures reaching about 78 to 84°.
Sunday will be even warmer and drier as our (very) slow-moving area of low pressure moves to the Northeast. This is probably the best day to sit out by the pool, even though the water is (still) probably too cool for you.
Another one will fill in behind it, leaving us with additional shower and storm chances each afternoon next Monday and Tuesday.
Humidity levels and storm chances will drop by the middle of next week.
