ROANOKE, Va. – If you’ve liked the weather the past two days, you’re going to love the weather the next two days as well.
High pressure continues to build over the eastern U.S., which leads to sinking air. When the air sinks, it compresses and warms.

Look for highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s not just Tuesday but Wednesday afternoon as well. The record highs this time of year, however, are in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
If you plan to take advantage of the warm weather, make sure you wear sunscreen. It’s that time of year when the sun gets higher in the sky and its rays become stronger. The UV Index will be at a high level, which translates to sunburn in 30 minutes.
That won’t necessarily be a problem later in the week, as a storm system to the west throws moisture our way. This will lead to a few isolated showers and storms late Thursday with perhaps a better chance Friday.
A separate storm system will place more pockets of heavy rain in our area late Saturday into very early Sunday.
Consider making a Plan B for Friday and late Saturday, but we should be good to go for most of Sunday. Highs each day will be in the 60s and 70s.
