Sebastian Posey – SAVANNAH, GA. (MEDIA GENERAL)---With Hurricane Matthew making it's presence known across the East Coast, many stores and restaurants have closed up shop to seek shelter, until it passes.
Normally it's easy to tell when stores and restaurants close for a hurricane because you'll see all the windows and doors boarded up. We've come across plenty of establishments like that.

Some establishment have taken an extra step to let customers know they're closed, leaving notes to confirm for those choosing to ride out the storm. Many are direct and to the point.
Many of the signs we came across also were used to let you know when they would likely return. For instance, at least two of the locations we passed were hoping to open up by Sunday morning.
Others were a bit more optimistic, shooting for a return date of Saturday evening.
And some, it seems, would rather just wait and see how the storm plays out before making a decision.
Some used their announcement as way to remind you the benefit of their product. I mean, seriously, honey doesn't spoil? Wow!
And some combined storm preparation with marketing. After all, the big pieces of plywood are basically billboards. That's just a good business strategy, really.
