New Bedford County Cell Phone policy requires students to store phones in pouches

Beginning January 6, 2025, secondary school students in Bedford County will be required to adhere to a new cell phone policy in accordance with Governor Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 33. Under the updated policy, students must turn off their cell phones and store them in locked pouches for the duration of the school day. The new policy eliminates the option to carry a phone during instructional hours.
