Martinsville is the big winner for rain so far with Lynchburg and Roanoke not far behind. Today's chance of rain (WSLS)The wedge will also keep temperatures down as chilly air coming down from a New England high pressure system gets trapped against our mountains. We will have to keep our eye on the tropics for later in the week as whatever is left of Tropical Storm Zeta could combine with a complex storm system.

The first system to track is a cold front to the west of us that will push through during the day. Future Tracker Temperatures Sunday 3 p.m. (WSLS)Once the wedge loses its grip on our weather, we’ll warm up a bit Monday through Wednesday. The next big chance of rain for our area is expected Thursday and Friday as a low pressure system emerges from the southwest. We also will have a front to our south, which could provide enough lift for periods of drizzle or light showers. Future Tracker Sunday 8 p.m. (WSLS)We’ll have another warm day Monday with some spotty storms around as the front slowly sinks south through our area. Behind the front, look for cooler and drier air to filter into the region for the middle of the week. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday are likely to stay in the 70s and we’ll feel a noticeable dip in humidity!
