TORONTO, ONT – Canada's health regulator approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, days ahead of possible approval in the United States, and said it hopes to start giving the shots next week. “This a momentous occasion," said Dr. Supriya Sharma, chief medical adviser at Health Canada. Health Canada said the terms of the approval require the manufacturer to continue providing information on the vaccine. U.S. regulators on Tuesday also released their first scientific evaluation of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and confirmed it offers strong protection. U.S. FDA scientists reanalyzed data and found the Pfizer vaccine appears safe and more than 90% effective across patients of different ages, races and underlying health conditions.

ONTARIO – This dog is getting some love on the internet after a shelter post described how she was found keeping five kittens warm on the side of a road on a cold night in Canada. Someone notified a shelter, and an animal control officer picked them up. The kittens have been taken in by a foster family because they’re not old enough to be adopted yet. Binzer also posted a photo of band members' bloodied faces and in neck braces in an ambulance. "The moose unfortunately was killed instantly and we all just feel horrible about it," the band said on Facebook. Carlo Berardi said the crash occurred about 25 miles south of Wawa, Ontario at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

(CNN) - Linda O' Leary, wife of entrepreneur and 'Shark Tank' star Kevin O'Leary, has been charged with "careless operation of a vessel" for her role in a fatal boat crash in Ontario, Canada, last month, according to police. Three other passengers were injured, including one on the O'Leary boat, according to police. Carolle Dionne told CNN that the maximum penalty for the regulatory charge is 18 months in prison or a $1 million dollar (CAD) fine. His agent, Jay Sures, last month said that Linda O'Leary was given a DUI test, which she reportedly passed. The driver was pulled over Wednesday near North Perth, about 100 miles west of Toronto, Ontario Provincial Police West said on Twitter. The driver's creative attempt to fashion an improvised child booster seat earned more than a wag of the finger. Police say the law requires children under 40 pounds to be secured in a child car seat and children under the age of 8 and 80 pounds require a booster seat. In a separate tweet, police said the case of beer was factory sealed, so the driver was not in violation of open container laws.
