The Cruise for St. Judes started at Ruritans headquarters outside of Dublin and went through Bland and Wytheville. We do have children in the New River Valley who have been to St. Judes, said Johnny Edmonds, the Ruritan member who came up with the idea for the ride. The ride is part of a yearlong, nationwide effort by Ruritan to fundraise for St. Judes. It really is a heartwarming experience to see so many bike riders here.Labor Day Weekend from now on will feature a Saint Judes ride.

Originally, for every four-pack of beer bought from Olde Salem Brewing Company between Thursday and Sunday the group of dads planned to donate $3 to the food bank. Head Brewer Kevin Campbell said hes never done anything like this before but hes happy to help. We were going to invite them in and brew beer for Fathers Day, but with the pandemic going on we couldnt do that. If 150 four-packs are bought by Sunday, the dads will donate and extra $50.
