One of Roanokeโs largest venues, Center in the Square, is among them. Green Home Solutions of Roanoke donated $10,000 worth of time and supplies to help the center prepare for Phase 3. Brady said he brings his own children to Center in the Square often when itโs open and wanted to help give back. When Center in the Square reopens, all staff and visitors will be required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

The famous tree will be coming from the Village of Florida in Orange County, New York. The tree is the Center's normal Norway Spruce, and was chosen from several submissions. After the tree is cut on November 7, the Center plants a young tree in its place. Then after the holidays, it donates the chosen tree to the Habitat for Humanity to be used for lumber on their home projects.

Young adults with special abilities were the servers for one tasty meal at a fundraiser for Lovable Services, and some of them will be working at Chris' Coffee and Custard, a new local caf. "And then be able to think of their company and maybe say, you know, 'I have this job that they would be able to do and, maybe, work at our company too.' But to open the eyes of the people in the community and be more willing to have someone with special abilities be able to come and work with them," said Beth Woodrum, Loveable Services executive director. That number would pay for about a dozen young adults to complete the training program.

The Roanoke Prepareathon set up inside of Center in the Square's atrium Saturday morning. Agencies including the National Weather Service, Red Cross and Roanoke Fire and Emergency Management Services educated people about disaster risks while helping them build emergency kits. He says he appreciated the tips at the Prepareathon and hopes others take heed of the warning. The Prepareathon is a nationwide event sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
