A man was arrested in Lynchburg on Friday following a weeks-long investigation involving a dead dog.

The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office is searching for answers after finding a dog that was left to die.

This time of year some shelters may see holiday returns – pets that were bought as presents or surprises for unprepared owners.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – The Roanoke Valley SPCA is asking for your help in looking for a missing dog following a deadly crash in Roanoke County Monday evening. The deadly Interstate 81 crash that took the life of a Pennsylvania man also killed a pet dog while another is missing, according to the animal shelter.
