Wintergreen Resort is taking summer fun to new heights with a first-of-its-kind event.

Wintergreen Resort has announced its opening day for the 2023-24 season.

Crews with Wintergreen Fire & Rescue said they spent most of their day Wednesday working to put out wildfires in the area.

Due to record warm temperatures, the Wintergreen Resort has decided to conclude its 2022-2023 winter season.

After warm conditions, Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County is preparing to welcome guests back next week.

While we didn’t see much snow, today’s winter weather is good news for ski resorts in the region. Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia received several inches of fresh powder, and while staff made snow on a regular basis, they said the real thing is always better. Meanwhile, Massanutten Resort in Rockingham County will be opening this upcoming weekend. So we’d like to make enough to make sure we make it through the next warm spell,” said Kenny Hess with the Massanutten Resort. This weather system is also benefitting Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County, where despite a lot of uncertainty, the chair lifts are now up and running.

NELLYSFORD, Va. – A wedding hosted at Wintergreen Resort led to 20 staff members in quarantine due to a coronavirus outbreak. General Manager Rod Kessler announced in a letter to Wintergreen homeowners that some associates have recently tested positive for COVID-19. The outbreak traces back to a wedding hosted at Wintergreen that happened on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. Kessler said a few days after the wedding, the resort was notified that someone from the wedding party had been diagnosed with COVID-19. This resulted in 20 staff members tested and in quarantine.
