The Roanoke River Greenway along Wiley Drive is closed due to flooding, according to PLAY Roanoke.

Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine helped to secure funding to raise the low water bridge on Wiley Drive.

Roanoke Stormwater made the announcement on Friday morning that Wiley Drive in Roanoke is closed due to flooding.

On Friday afternoon, the City of Roanoke Transportation and the City of Roanoke announced that Wiley Drive will be closed until further notice.

Virginia Senator Mark Warner visited the Star City on Tuesday to talk about the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package.

Starting Tuesday, drivers will no longer have to turn around on Wiley Drive near Wasena Park as the barricades will be lifted.

Flooding is the most common and costly natural hazard, according to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
