The cityโs Water Resources department just launched a website to inform the community on the new project. Lynchburg Water Resources looks to start construction early 2023, once the Lakeside Bridge construction is complete. โThe spillway of College Lake Dam, if it were built today, would need to be 12 times the size of what it currently is,โ said Erin Hawkins, the project manager. Lynchburg Water Resources will host a virtual town hall next week for members of the community.

Now they wont have to do that, thanks to a new technology. On Thursday Water Resources crews installed cellular meters that can be read on office computers. City leaders say they this will help them warn homeowners of water leaks before higher bills drain their wallets. City leaders have installed 400 cellular meters so far and have 24,000 more to go.
