The boil water notice issued in Martinsville last Friday has been lifted, according to city officials.

A boil water notice in the Elliston and Shawsville areas was lifted on Wednesday after a water outage over the weekend, and residents say they are thankful.

The boil water notice has been lifted for residents in the Shawsville and Elliston areas, according to the Montgomery County Public Service Authority.

Some people in Botetourt County may be without water.
