Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 follow the protocol established by the league and the players' association. Club medical staff are in regular communication with individuals who test positive to monitor symptoms. Staal said he was โthe first guy to test positiveโ and said he was โas surprised as anyone else โ really in shockโ after finding out. He said he was trying to be safe and follow health protocols before testing positive.
