But the Demon Deacons fought back for the 67-64, another disappointing loss for the Hokies. Wake Forest was led by Gina Conti who scored 18 points and Ivana Raca and Christina Morra who each tallied 17 points. It was a 14-2 run in the second half that wiped away the Hokies’ 10 point lead. The Hokies are scheduled to be back at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday to host Notre Dame--their second meeting of the season with the Fighting Irish.

The Deacons quarterback Sam Hartman completed a 9-yard rushing touchdown, while kicker Nick Sciba completed a 41-yard field goal. The Hokies answered back with a field goal in the second quarter as kicker Brian Johnson successfully made a 28-yard field goal to cut the deficit. Late in the second quarter, Wake Forest ended the tie by scoring a 6-yard rushing touchdown by running back Kenneth Walker III. In the third quarter, the Deacs kept themselves in the lead as kicker Nick Sciba completed a 46-yard field goal.
