Virginia’s Phase Two reopening plan took effect Friday, which allows restaurants to open inside at half capacity. Olde Salem Brewing Company in Salem reopened its taproom with social distancing precautions in place. General manager Shea Coffey said Olde Salem got through the last few months with beer deliveries and pick-up orders. Having people in the tap room is indispensable when it comes to how our business runs.”There are limitations to the reopened dining rooms.

For outdoor sports, the total number of attendees, including participants and spectators, can’t exceed 50% occupancy, or 50 people, whichever is lower. For indoor sports, the total number of attendees, including participants and spectators, can’t exceed 30% occupancy, or 50 people, whichever is lower. Religious servicesCan remain open with no more than 50% occupancy.

Under Phase One guidelines, they’ve been limited to outdoor seating at half capacity. Martin’s was able to add temporary outdoor seating to get by, but the once-bustling restaurant has been empty inside for months now. Outdoor seating at Martin’s only runs through Sunday. Starting Friday, Tuco’s will expand its outdoor seating, adding more tables in the parking lot.
