This year, the Virginia Proud Weather Tour will honor fire and emergency medical services first responders throughout Southwest Virginia. The tour begins Monday, May 1 and will take Jeff Haniewich to 15 counties over the course of three weeks. Below is the schedule of where Jeff will be each day of the tour. HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Virginia Proud Weather Tour concluded in Henry County on Thursday. Jeff Haniewich stopped by the Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival, which starts Thursday and lasts until Sunday. Johnny Buck, the co-founder of the festival, said the event is in memory of two of his close childhood friends, Edwin "the Rooster" Penn and Walker Shank. Buck said the two loved music and the outdoors. Besides music, there's also multiple booths selling a variety of products at the festival.

HALIFAX COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop 20 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich to the Virginia International Raceway. Connie Nyholm, the owner of VIR, said that this upcoming weekend is the Wisko Grand Prix on May 28 and 29. Tickets are $10 to $25 and parking is free. The restaurant at the track has 14 craft beers on tap. On Thursday, the Virginia Proud Weather Tour concludes in Henry County at The Rooster Walk Music & Art Festival.

APPOMATTOX COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop 19 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich and Lindsey Ward to Evergreen, three months after a deadly tornado hit. On Tuesday, WSLS 10 announced Rebuilding Hope, a partnership between WSLS 10, God's Pit Crew and Spirit FM to rebuild the home of Nancy Harris. Not only did Harris lose her home, she also lost her husband when the tornado hit February 24. On Wednesday, Jeff will be in Halifax County.

CAMPBELL COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop 17 on the Virginia Proud Weather took Jeff Haniewich to the Lynchburg Regional Airport ahead of the Lynchburg Regional Airshow this weekend. Jeff had the opportunity to ride in an L-39 Albatros on Friday. That's one of the jets that will be flying in the show. On Monday, the tour will be in the Bland and Wythe County line to the Big Walker Lookout and County Store.

AMHERST COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop 16 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour had Jeff Haniewich at Sweet Briar College. This Thursday marks Amherst County Chamber of Commerce's Third Thursday Business After Hours event. This month, Sweet Briar is hosting the event. Claudia Tucker, a member of the Amherst County Board of Supervisors, said there's something for everyone in the county. "We're really hoping that this rebirth of Sweet Briar is also a rebirth of the relationship between the community and the college," said Kilgore.

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - On Friday, Stop 12 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich to Ballou Park in Danville for the city's Festival in the Park. About 30,000 people are expected to come during the course of the weekend. Anna Pickeral, the board president for Festival in the Park, said each year the festival evolves. "Over 42 years we have gone and added entertainment and this year we've gone and added, as they said, the 200-foot slip-and-slide," explained Pickeral. All concerts are free and begin at 6:30 p.m.On Monday, the Virginia Proud Weather Tour will be in Giles County at Mountain Lake Lodge.

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE (WSLS 10) - Stop 11 on the Virginia Proud Weather took Jeff Haniewich to Smith Mountain Lake. The lake is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The celebration began in March and ends in mid-December. Bill Piatt, the chairman of the 50th anniversary Steering Committee, said plans for the nearly year-long celebration began more than two years ago. This Saturday at the Smith Mountain Lake Airport is the Wheels and Wings event.

FLOYD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop 8 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich to the Floyd Country Store in Floyd County. On Friday nights, the store is host the Friday Night Jamboree. That's what we do," said Dylan Locke, the owner of the Floyd Country Store. Floyd County recently opened a new visitor's center and a new website, visitfloydva.com. On Tuesday, the tour will be in Rockbridge County and Lexington.

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - On Friday, Jeff Haniewich and the Virginia Proud Weather Tour visited the Community School's Strawberry Festival. A great kickoff to the summer time and the festival season," said Nicole Cooper, the co-chair of the Chocolate Dipped Strawberries booth. For Michi Hines, the administrative director with the Community School and the director of the festival, it's her 24th festival. I hear stories all the time, people coming from West Virginia, Pennsylvania with their coolers," said Hines. On Monday, the Virginia Proud Weather Tour will be in Floyd County at the Floyd Country Store.
