10 News is working for you to help you find your money during our virtual Find Your Money phone bank on Nov. 3 and 4.

One in four Virginians have misplaced money or valuables in the Virginia Treasury Department.

1 in 4 Virginians have unclaimed property, like gift certificates, unpaid wages, or uncashed checks, waiting to be claimed. February 1 is National Unclaimed Property Day, the Virginia Department of Treasury is holding the Unclaimed Property Call Event Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Virginia Department of Treasury has announced the first annual National Unclaimed Property Day on Feb. 1, and is celebrating with a free virtual call event. The Virginia Department of the Treasury Unclaimed Property Program reunites rightful owners with their unclaimed property that has been reported to The Commonwealth. Virginians also have the option of searching the Commonwealth’s free search site and for other states, there is a national site . Do not use any third-party sites to find your unclaimed property as they will charge you a fee. Ad10 News has partnered with the Virginia Department of Treasury Unclaimed Property division for five years for the Find Your Money phone bank.

ROANOKE, Va. – 10 News is working for you to help you find your money. We once again partnered with the Virginia Department of Treasury to reconnect you with your unclaimed property. While the phone lines are closed, you can check online to see if you have any unclaimed property. Over the two-day event, we found our viewers $73,000. Since we began this project four years ago, we’ve found our viewers nearly $900,000.
