The Virginia Children’s Theatre is hosting an emergency fundraising campaign to make sure the show can continue.

ROANOKE, Va. – The Virginia Children’s Theatre is looking for little stars in its first-ever traveling talent search. The theatre will host auditions at four area libraries looking for kids to cast in three upcoming productions, including Mary Poppins Jr. Actors in grades K-12 are encouraged to attend and you do not have to prepare anything to perform in advance. “At VCT we believe that theatre skills are skills for life and theatre skills are life skills, so we’re teaching multiple different things and we’re educating while we’re producing top notch theatre, so this is a great opportunity for students to be creative and have a creative outlet especially during a time like right now,” said Brett Roden, VTC, Producing Artistic Director. ROANOKE, Va. – Making room on the performing arts stage for everyone all year long. Virginia Children’s Theatre is now offering a year-round arts program for those with special needs. It’s called Club K and is modeled after the non-profit’s summer Kaleidoscope program. Because Club K is offered virtually, students in southwest Virginia and beyond can sign-up for the class. Vinton Town Council will get briefings about possible restaurant expansion. Farmburguesa is looking to expand its down location, adding a semi-enclosed patio, to add outside seating. The Dogwood Restaurant is also interested in expanding, including the addition of a patio. With some kids out of school because of the election today, Virginia Children’s Theatre is holding an Election Day Camp. The theme of the camp is Superheroes, teaching students to use their skills to make the world a better place.
