Police in Rocky Mount are investigating a recent act of vandalism at one of its parks.

Pittsylvania County is seeking out a person or persons who vandalized Gretna Elementary School. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Gretna Elementary staff notified the reported vandalism on Sep. 20.

Botetourt County faced multiple acts of vandalism and threats targeting the Board of Supervisors, leading to the arrest of a suspect and a reaffirmation of the community's intolerance for such behavior.

The Bedford cemetery supervisor reacts to men charged with headstone vandalism

A historic Bedford graveyard was found with over 40 graves toppled on Friday, and now police are offering a $2,000 reward to find the person responsible.

The Bedford Police Department has announced charges against two men in connection with vandalism at the Longwood Cemetery on Oct. 6.

As state leaders continue the search for the vandals, they’re taking action to keep other pregnancy centers around the Commonwealth safe.

Police say three tombstones were broken in the confederate section last month; a bronze nameplate was stolen from a Revolutionary War soldier’s gravesite, and writing was etched into a podium.

Volunteers are helping to fix the tombstones, and the cemetery is looking to install surveillance cameras.

FINCASTLE, Va. The Botetourt County Sheriffs Office is investigating after paint was splattered on a Confederate monument in Fincastle. At 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, a woman was seen on surveillance footage vandalizing the monument, which is located on the front lawn of the Botetourt County Circuit Courthouse. The Courthouse Obelisk, which was erected in 1904, according to the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies, names all the companies from Botetourt County that served in the Confederate forces. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Sgt. The monument has since been cleaned.
