A 64-year-old man is dead and two others are hurt following a crash last Friday in Amherst County, according to Virginia State Police.

Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a 65-year-old man dead Tuesday.

An official from UVA Health has shared an update on the two victims hurt in the Sunday shooting at the University of Virginia.

Eight people sustained non-life threatening injuries after a shooting in Harrisonburg Saturday, reports NBC News.

A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after a man shot him in Highland County on Friday, according to Virginia State Police.

Dr. Patrick Jackson, professor of UVA Medical Center’s infectious diseases and international health division, said he feels encouraged by Pfizer’s announcement Monday that their vaccine may be 90% effective -- but it’s still too soon to tell. “It’s very exciting stuff, and I think it points the way towards a way out of the pandemic," said Jackson. “They were only looking at less than 100 cases of COVID-19 to make that estimate of 90% effectiveness. The body produces the protein, then produces the antibodies. So, this is really powerful technology,” Jackson added.

BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. – A community in Buckingham County is in mourning for a 31-year-old woman who died following a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy. John and Sylvia Yoder and their four children were traveling in a horse-drawn buggy, Friday afternoon. John Yoder was thrown from the buggy when it was struck by the Silverado pickup driven by 67-year-old George M. Lee. Sylvia Yoder was taken to UVA Medical Center as well where she died Saturday morning. One of the horses in the buggy had to be put down on scene, and the other was taken to the vet.
