A wildfire burning in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona has promoted evacuations. FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - A wildfire inside the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, grew to 1,800 acres in size prompting authorities to order mandatory evacuations in the surrounding area Monday. The Museum Fire was first reported on Sunday and has since stretched across the forest, the US Forest Service website shows. Elden Lookout Estates, Hutcheson Acres, McCann Estates, Little Elden Springs, Black Bill Park as well as Wupatki Trails and Pine Mountain Estates, the alert said. Officials urged residents to get their emergency items in order and stay aware of the latest information should the need for mandatory evacuations arise.

There are currently more than 200 active fires in Alaska, so the Women's Fire Crew headed off to The Last Frontier. The crew will be in the Upper Yukon of the state for the next 14 days, helping to fight the Hadweenzic River Fire. "I was going into the season a little nervous but ended up tackling challenges and am excited to overcome the unknown in Alaska," Hardy said on Facebook. Right now the need is in Alaska, so the Women's Fire Crew and others have headed up there to help. Jarden, Formiller, Descamps and Hardy are joined by fellow crew members Alex Perez, Patty Derner, Leah Katz and Hannah Zamorski.

The Cellar Fire has burned nearly 7,000 acres in an area located about 16 miles south of Prescott, and it was 0% contained as of Thursday, fire officials said. Firefighters have been trying to contain the fire since a lightning strike ignited it on Sunday, the forest service said. At least four helicopters and 18 engines have responded to the area, the forest service said. The firefighters -- members of the Prescott Fire Department's Granite Mountain Hotshots -- died battling the Yarnell Hill fire, northwest of Phoenix.
