BIG ISLAND, Va. Authorities are investigating a fatal crash in Bedford County. According to the Big Island Volunteer Fire Department, the crash happened early Saturday morning on Lee Jackson Highway in Coleman Falls. A portion of Route 501 closed while crews investigate and clear the scene. The road reopened around 10 a.m.No word on what led to the crash or the identity of the victim(s).
