'Not Your Average Weekend' in Roanoke kicked off with a block party to support community programming.

The Humble Hustle will host "Not Your Average Weekend," one of their biggest fundraising efforts.

Amid recent racial tension, a local nonprofit is asking people to take to the streets with chalk in their hands and love in their hearts. On June 20, distribution sites will be set up around the city for people to grab chalk, snacks and water. "I feel like love changes things, Duckett said, "I feel like when you put love into something, things have to shift, things get shaken." Theres a growing list of businesses getting involved and volunteering to be chalk, water and snack distribution sites. There will also be churches, neighborhood organizations and businesses handing out chalk and snacks.
