Now, players will need to be tested and declared virus-free before heading to The Greenbrier. They still would not be paid if they test positive, but at least would avoid going to the site before being told theyre not allowed to participate. If youre in California, and get a negative test, then youre going to come to The Greenbrier. Silva told the AP.

At noon on March 19, The Greenbrier closed its doors amid coronavirus concerns. When guests return to the property, they’ll notice a variety of safety measures, including:Full-time teams dedicated to sanitizing high-touch public spaces such as door handles, railings, elevator buttons, tables and desks. The housekeeping team is paying special attention to sanitizing high-touch areas inside the rooms, such as remote controls, clocks, light switches and informational guides. Seating areas have been adjusted inside restaurants to allow for additional distancing and reservation times have been spread out to avoid backups.

Va. - The PGA made a number schedule changes for this calendar year, which moved A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier back to Sept. 9-15. Its a move that initially caused concern but now ties in with the tournaments new approach. In 2018, the tournament not only took on a new name but also a new focus -- to honor those who served in the military and this year they're adding to it. The annual PGA Tour FedEx Cup stop will now be the start to the 2019-2020 season, giving more golfers an opportunity to compete. Previously, we were sandwiched in between two sizable tournaments the U.S. Open on the front end and the Open Championship, British Open, on the back end.
