Due to the ongoing impacts of Helene, multiple schools will be closed or delayed on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Severe weather will be impacting our area over the next two days, and many school districts are delaying arrival or closing altogether on Friday, Sept. 27.

The school district is facing a $3.7 million deficit after the state cut some of its funding.

Alleghany High School will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 29, due to a disruption in water service, according to Alleghany Highlands Public Schools officials.
