PULASKI, Va. – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office mourned one of their own on Sunday. Sergeant Perry Hodge, a well-known school resource officer in Pulaski County, was killed early Thursday when his truck was hit head-on while driving on Route 11 near Dublin. Deputies paid tribute to Hodge with a group ride from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office to the funeral. Pulaski-based motorcycle club Faith Ryders stopped to pray at the Route 11 memorial before the funeral. After an hours long standoff, a Roanoke County Police spokesperson said Roanoke County SWAT entered the home after 2 a.m. and found the individual deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Road closures for a crash investigation could impact your commute on Tuesday morning. All I-81 southbound lanes between exits 213 and 205 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Virginia State Police is investigating a recent crash in that area. Drivers can take a detour at Exit 213A and take Route 11 (Lee-Jackson Highway) south into Rockbridge County, and then take Route 606 (Raphine Road) west to return to the interstate at exit 205. BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – State Police are investigating a crash after a trooper was hit in his car. Police say it happened at 10 p.m. Friday on Route 11 in Botetourt County. A white Dodge pick-up truck was traveling north on the road when it hit the trooper on the right side of the state police car. Damage to the suspect’s car will be on the right side and will include the right headlight and fender. Witness’ at the scene say the pick-up truck drove away after hitting the trooper’s car.

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. - The 69-year-old Troutville man who was the victim of a hit-and-run crash Friday evening has died, according to Virginia State Police. The hit-and-run occurred Friday on Route 11, in front of the Dodge's gas station, just south of Route 220. The car was traveling south on Route 11- when it struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
