Starting July 1, individuals under 21 will no longer be allowed inside of Rosie’s as a result of changes in Virginia state law.

If everything goes as planned Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums across Virginia will have a new owner before the end of 2022.

The new slots and entertainment venue at Rosie’s Gaming Emporium in Vinton are now open to the public.

DANVILLE, Va. - In a narrow victory, the referendum that will allow Rosie's Gaming Emporium to expand in Southwest Virginia passed Tuesday. According to the state Department of Elections, 5,083 people voted to allow Rosie's to open in Danville while 4,717 people voted against allowing the gambling establishment to open. "Danville is the comeback city and we think this is another step in that direction." "We can begin in earnest working with Danville city leaders to determine exactly what kind of project the community in Danville would like to see and the collaborating to bring that to fruition," Hubbard said. VINTON, Va. - Live horse racing is back in Virginia, and you will be able to place your bets on the races from the Roanoke Valley. The Colonial Downs horse race track in New Kent County resumed horse racing Thursday evening after a five-year hiatus. Bettors at Rosie's Gaming Emporium in Vinton, which is owned by the same company that owns Colonial Downs, were able to put money on the first race. Both Rosie's and Colonial Downs were able to open because of a change to Virginia's gaming laws last year. Colonial Downs will host horse races on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through September.

DANVILLE, Va. - Off-track betting is one step closer to reality in Danville. A petition for a special election in Danville has received more than enough signatures. It was started this spring by a Danville resident. A judge now has until Aug. 16 to set a date for a special election later this year. Rosie's Gaming Emporium wants to open a location in Danville.
