The Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts are making a big push to vaccine people over 65 or those with underlying conditions. Staff at the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority know that some of their residents have a hard time making it to traditional vaccine clinics, so they brought shots to them. โYou still donโt know whoโs out there that has COVID Even though they may have had a COVID shot,โ Schultz said. The housing redevelopment hopes to host more clinics as the vaccine becomes more available.

FarmBurguesa and the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority teamed up to deliver 250 hamburger meals to residents in elderly and disabled housing sites. โItโs always important to give back to the community. So the community feeds us, we feed our community,โ said Kat Pascal, co-owner of FarmBurguesa. FarmBurguesa received a $10,000 donation to make this possible as part of a food insecurity initiative, which supports independent restaurants while delivering meals to people in the community.
