Federal health officials are pressing nursing home workers to get their booster shots amid a spike in COVID-19 cases among staffers and a concerning lag in booster vaccination for residents and staff.

The government is telling nursing homes to open their doors wide to visitors, easing many remaining pandemic restrictions while urging residents, families and facility staff to keep their guard up against outbreaks.

Nursing homes across the country are still reporting scattered COVID-19 outbreaks and COVID-associated deaths, albeit at much smaller rates than during the height of the pandemic.

New dog recruits are helping to expand the nursing home's pet therapy program, giving residents and staff physical comfort while human visitors are still restricted because of the pandemic. “They’ve been on the floors bringing happiness and unconditional love to residents and staff alike.”The dogs belong to staff members who bring them to work every day. Hebrew Home has numerous lifelike animatronic cats that purr and meow as residents hold them in their laps and stroke their fur. For some residents, the interaction can break down barriers and open communication and emotional expression, she said. “It means a lot to me, makes me feel good when I pet the dogs,” said Pagan, who’s recovering from a stroke.

A detour is in place using U. S. Highway 360. An alternate route is 460 west to Princeton to Interstate 77, then Wolf Creek Road to Narrows. In Franklin County, part of Route 116 is closed in the Coopers Cove area because part of the road collapsed. The lane closure is about 1.5 miles east of Windridge Parkway and one mile west of Coopers Cove Road.

She used her acceptance speech to support the U.S. Women's National soccer team's fight against the gender pay gap. "Get online, talk about it, let people know how you feel about it because what happened to them is unfair," Swift said. "Riverdale" took home four surfboard trophies, including Choice Drama TV Show, Drama Actor and Actress for stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, and Choice Ship for the pair. "Avengers: Endgame" was also a big winner, scoring awards in the action film category for Choice Movie, Choice Actor for Robert Downey Jr., Choice Actress for Scarlett Johansson and Choice Villain for Josh Brolin.

"I am deeply honored to pay tribute to Luke on Riverdale," Doherty wrote on instagram. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had said last month the season premiere would be dedicated to saying goodbye to Perry, who appeared on the show since 2017. In a statement, Aguirre-Sacasa said Perry had wanted Doherty to guest since season 1 of the show. "They were such good friends, and when we were putting together this tribute episode, we wanted to make it as special as possible, and so we asked Shannen to do a pivotal, super-emotional role," he said.
