ARLINGTON, Texas Texas right-hander Corey Kluber left his first start in almost 15 months after just one inning Sunday due to shoulder tightness. The two-time Cy Young Award winner was making his first appearance for a team other than Cleveland after an offseason trade. A visitor to Yellowstone National Park is in critical condition and may face charges after tripping and falling into a hot spring near the famous Old Faithful geyser, according to officials. Cade Edmond Siemers was walking in the dark late Sunday without a flashlight when he tumbled into the thermal pool, a park spokeswoman said. After dawn on Monday, rangers went to the pool and discovered Siemers' shoe, hat and a beer can, park officials said. (CNN) - Former Rangers player Fernando Ricksen has passed away at the age of 43 following a battle with motor neurone disease. Ricksen, who won 12 caps for the Dutch national team, had been battling the disease for six years after being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in October 2013. The former defender spent six years at the Glasgow club, where he won the domestic cup double in 2002 and the treble in 2003. "It's very sad news for everyone connected with Rangers and, more importantly, his young family," Rangers coach Steven Gerrard told a news conference on Wednesday. "That sums up the character, the warrior type on the pitch and off the pitch.

Authorities say they received a call around 8:30 p.m. on July 26 for a single-vehicle crash near milepost 53 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The passenger was able to get out of the vehicle with minor injuries, according to authorities. Authorities say the driver, Lance Hooper, 21, of Forest was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations show Hooper was driving north when he lost control of his vehicle and it left the roadway.
