Radford High School and John Dalton Intermediate will be completely virtual starting Thursday, March 25 through Friday, April 2. Superintendent Rob Graham said at least 10 students have come down with COVID-19. That’s why the district made the call to move to virtual learning temporarily. The schools will be closed until after spring break so the district can do a deep cleaning.

Coach Rick Cormany’s crew played a complete game from start to finish and it started with the younger Cormany’s-- Cam and Gavin. Cam Cormany started the game with back-to-back three pointers, followed up by one from the wing by Gavin. The two combined for 25 points for the game, as the Bobcats made 13 three pointers in the win. Prioleau started and contributed two buckets in his first action since tearing his ACL during the 2019 football season.

Students will have asynchronous learning opportunities on Tuesday, according to school leaders. School leaders said they’re working closely with the New River Valley Health Department. Starting Tuesday, the school will switch to an all-virtual learning platform that will go until Dec. 7. McHarg, Belle Heth Elementary and Radford High School will all remain in a hybrid schedule.

We do stations of cone drills, ladders, bag drills, we can’t have a ball yet it’s kind of tough. “It’s been tough because you don’t know where to start, what you want to get in, what you don’t want to get in,” said Saunders. Whereas you could start after Labor Day, start in February, I don’t know.”But the Bobcats have still been moving forward, motivated by last season’s finish.

A Radford City employee hangs up banners on a lamp post along Main Street Tuesday. Radford City Schools, in partnership with the city and Ballpark Signs, is putting up banners on lamp posts along Main Street. “This is a really, really special senior class for us," he said.
