Radford Fire-EMS and the Radford City Police Department were dispatched to a house fire on Custis Street at Thursday afternoon.

A Goodview man has been charged after a residential burglary in the College Park neighborhood on Feb. 8, according to the Radford City Police Department.

Radford City Fire and EMS and Radford Police officers responded to the area quickly and worked together to save the pup from the New River.

Those who text 911 may request emergency services from police, fire or emergency medical services. RADFORD, Va. – The Radford City Police Department arrested a wanted Tazewell County man who was wanted on six warrants early Thursday morning. At about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a call about a wanted person out of Richlands, leading to a search in the area surrounding Rock Road. Authorities said 45-year-old Jason Edward Matney was taken into custody after an overnight search. According to New River Valley Regional Jail, Matney was wanted for brandishing or pointing a firearm, assault with a firearm used in the commission of a felony, weapons convicted as a felon, conspiracy to kidnap/abduct by force without justification, kidnapping/abducting by force without justification and simple assault. Police said he is currently being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.

RADFORD, Va. - UPDATEJael Osterbauer, the woman hit by a car in Radford on Saturday, has died as a result of her injuries. Osterbauer died at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Friday around 9 a.m., according to Radford city officials. ORIGINAL STORYRadford City police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just before 10 p.m. Saturday. She was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Traffic patterns were altered during the processing of the scene and have since returned to normal flow.

RADFORD, Va. - The Radford City Police Department's newest tool has quite the horsepower. A 2012 Dodge Challenger seized from a drug dealer is now serving its community. You won't have to look too hard to find it as it will be at various community events, parades, and most often cruising around local school. The vehicle is assigned to SRO Beasley, a six-year veteran patrol officer who has served as SRO for Dalton Intermediate and Belle Heth Elementary since January 2011.
