These five athletes all had COVID-19 symptoms. Two previous smaller studies in college athletes recovering from the virus suggested heart inflammation might be more common. The question is of key interest to athletes, who put extra stress on their hearts during play, and undetected heart inflammation has been linked with sudden death. And whether severe COVID-19 symptoms increase the chances of having fleeting or long-lasting heart damage ‘’is part of the puzzle,’’ he said.

San Diego Padres pitcher Jacob Nix was arrested in Arizona earlier this week after allegedly crawling through a doggie door in an attempt to break into a home, authorities said. The resident kicked him in the face and then tased him as another person tried to pull Nix back through the doggie door, police said. Nix allegedly told authorities he believed he was entering his own home. However, he told police he has no doggie door, authorities said. Cosgrove was charged with one count of criminal trespassing and was released on bond.

The husband told Peoria Police he was woken up around 3:30 a.m. when he heard sound coming from the doggy door located in his bedroom, the police report said. The husband told police he kicked Nix in the face, then noticed another man's arm reach in and try to pull Nix outside. Armed with his stun gun, the husband leaned through the doggy door, took aim and struck Nix in his back, according to the police report. Nix said that he usually enters his home through the front, and that none of his doors have a doggy door. Both men told police that they had been out drinking that night.
