A recent wave of four homicides in Lynchburg has left the community in shock, prompting calls for enhanced security and opportunities to restore hope.

Four Lynchburg teenagers, aged 13 to 15, face serious gun charges after a shooting incident, prompting community leaders to call for intervention and increased security measures.

Lynchburg Police say the community is not being 'cooperative' when it comes to finding the suspects.

The group One Community One Voice organized the vigil to honor the life of a 12-year-old girl killed in a shooting.

One Community, One Voice is sponsoring the free event at the University of Lynchburg from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The organization held its sixth and final rally of the summer on Tuesday at the Dearington apartment complex.

For parents and caregivers, it can be difficult to explain to children what happened in Texas and why the drills that they do in school are essential to their safety.

Executive director Dr. James Camm says the rally was planned months ago, but coincidentally after the nationwide violence this weekend, he’s really calling on Lynchburg to unite.

One Community One Voice is seeking more donors in hopes that every student can have this opportunity.

Once they collect $1,000 through small change and QR codes, business partners match it in order to make a $4,000 donation.

The kids were chosen through Lynchburg City Schools, Horizon Behavioral Health, and other agencies, then each child received more than $100 to spend.

People in Lynchburg are working together to make sure everyone stays warm this winter.

LYNCHBURG, Va. The Lynchburg community is coming together to help get children ready for the school year, even if it looks different this year. Members of One Community One Voice and other organizations are handing out 600 pairs of shoes and more than 400 backpacks with supplies inside on Saturday at Riverside Park. The Building Our Community Together is a free event for children and adults. We realize during this pandemic a lot of people are out of work. So during this event were going to have employees that will hire right on the spot, said co-founder James Camm.
