NEW YORK – One of the top chroniclers of the Trump administration, New York Times White House reporter Maggie Haberman, has a book deal. Penguin Press announced Thursday that the Pulitzer Prize winner's book, currently untitled, would come out in 2022. “Maggie Haberman’s book will be an instant classic, a definitive and fascinating account of Donald Trump, his life and his presidency," Penguin vice president and publisher Scott Moyers said in a statement . Haberman was represented by the Javelin literary agency, whose other clients include former FBI Director James Comey and former National Security Advisor John Bolton. In 2017, Haberman and fellow Times reporter Glenn Thrush reached an agreement with Random House for a book on Trump, but the deal fell through after Thrush was accused by several women of sexual harassment.

RADFORD, Va – The city of Radford is ranked number five on the New York Times list of COVID-19 hotspots in the state of Virginia. The city has seen 97 new COVID-19 cases in the last week. Noelle Bissell with the New River Health District says most of the cases are from both the student population at Radford University and socialization of city residents. She warns of misconceptions that might come from data that isn’t coming directly from the health department. Bissell also says Radford might be quick to show up on a hot spot list because it has a population of less than 20,000.

Aides to President Trump have reportedly asked South Dakotas governor about adding the 45th president to Mount Rushmore, according to the New York Times. The article claims that the president and South Dakotas Gov. Kristi Noem talked about the monument in 2018 during a visit to the Oval Office, when Trump told her it was his dream to be on Mount Rushmore. The president previously mentioned his desire to be added to the monument during a 2017 campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio.

NEW YORK – One of the teenagers charged in connection with the murder of a Charlottesville native attending college in New York City will spend at least 6 months in a juvenile detention center, according to the New York Times. The 14-year-old suspect was charged as a juvenile and pleaded guilty to a robbery charge. He admitted he was with two teenagers who are now charged with murder in the stabbing death of Tessa Majors. He was sentenced yesterday to 18 months in a juvenile detention center. The Barnard College student was killed in a New York City park back in December.

NEW YORK – Liberty University has pushed for criminal trespassing charges against two journalists who pursued stories about why the evangelical college in Virginia has remained partially open during the coronavirus outbreak. Liberty's security forces investigated the journalists following publication of their articles, collecting witness accounts that they were on campus without permission, Falwell said. The Times story was headlined, "Liberty University Brings Back its Students, and Coronavirus Fears, Too." Liberty is particularly upset at the Times, disputing the newspaper's contention that nearly a dozen Liberty students were sick with symptoms that suggested COVID-19. Murphy said the Times' story described contradictory statements by university leadership and personal attacks against critics of Liberty's policy.

CNN(CNN) - A new survey of likely Iowa Democratic caucusgoers from the New York Times and Siena College finds a tight top tier of four in Iowa, with no clear leader in the first state to weigh in on the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. This also marks a jump for Buttigieg, who previously lagged behind the three longstanding frontrunners and clocked in at 9% in CNN's poll in Iowa last month. Behind them, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar lands at 4%, and California Sen. Kamala Harris and businessman Andrew Yang at 3% each in Friday's poll. Two-thirds of likely caucusgoers in the poll said they could still change their minds about whom to support. The Times/Siena survey was conducted from Oct. 25-30, questioned 439 Iowa Democratic caucusgoers and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.

Julie B. Porter, an attorney for McGowan, refuted that her client sought $6 million from Weinstein, stating that Weinstein offered McGowan $1 million not to publish her memoir. McGowan, 46, is one of more than 80 women to come forward with allegations against Weinstein ranging from sexual violence and harassment to rape. McGowan claims in her suit that Weinstein offered her $1 million to not go public with her rape allegation and to drop the publication of her book. The complaint also alleges that Weinstein enlisted attorney Jose Baez as part of his alleged smear campaign against her. McGowan's suit concludes that she "has suffered tremendously from Defendants' conspiracy and lies."

The first of Phelps' records was broken by Hungarian swimmer Kristof Milak, 19, in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 1:50.73, beating Phelps' 1:51.51 from Rome in 2009. Dressel, 22, broke the second of Phelps' records with a time of 49.50 in the 100-meter butterfly, topping the 49.82 Phelps also swam in Rome in 2009. The trend continued when Smith, 17, broke Missy Franklin's world record in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:03.35. Phelps' lone individual world record left standing is the 400 meters in the individual medley.

Now, he wants four Occidental directors to pay for that controversial deal with their jobs. Icahn has previously expressed fear that the Anadarko deal is extremely risky because of the turbulent nature of oil prices. Icahn has proposed replacing the following Occidental directors: Spencer Abraham, Eugene Batchelder, Margaret Foran and Avedick Poladian. He noted that all of Occidental's directors were re-elected at the company's annual meeting in May, albeit with lower support than usual.
