After every Thanksgiving, the first Tuesday is a day dedicated to raising money for non-profits. Many local charities rely on money raised today to help them throughout the year including two non-profits in the New River Valley.

New River Community Action is helping to bridge the gap in the New River Valley, making preschool available to over 300 kids.

The New River Community Action is moving locations in Radford. Now for the first time, all of its programs are available under one roof.

'To Our House,' is a program run by New River Community Action, giving people experiencing homelessness a place to warm up, and a place to start getting them back on their feet.

Nicole Bowman with James Hardie, in Pulaski County has been working with New River Community Action which serves Pulaski, Montgomery, Floyd, Giles and Radford. Bowman wanted to create blessing bags because her son is experiencing homelessness, and she wanted to give back.
