Then a week turned into months.After some restrictions were lifted, most people were comfortable with going to restaurants or seeing their friends. Dani Jo, however, was considered high risk due to a rare disease. Were talking six months essentially that Dani Jo has been off our property, out of the house, I guess 2 times, said Joey Hearl. OUTER BANKS, NC – The cold snap in North Carolina is stunning dozens of turtles. Nearly 100 were washed ashore, after floating in the frigid waters. Turtles on the southern Outer Banks were seen surrounded by frost, stopped in their tracks. Once the turtles are rescued they are quickly warmed up and taken to a stranding center, like the one in Virginia Beach. Volunteers braving the frigid weather to make sure these turtles, many threatened, get a second chance at life.

OCRACOKE ISLAND, NC - Crews of engineers are working to repair several sections of NC 12 after posting this photo of the Route 12 roadway overnight. Crews say damage on other roads isn't quite this bad in Hatteras, but warns locals to travel cautiously. A park visitor came to the Hanging Rock State Park Visitor's Center about 4 p.m. to report a family who seemed to be looking for someone who was lost on Hanging Rock Trail. The family gave them a description of their 14-year-old son, who they had become separated from while hiking. The lost boy wandered off from the Hanging Rock Trail. Once the boy was found, EMS checked his vitals and met with his mother and released him back to his family. About a dozen or more family members were on site when the boy went missing.
