The Roanoke Sheriff's Office Make-A-Wish Holiday Drive is hoping to get more donations to be able to help even more families in need.

Each year, kids come to the Bridgewater Marina at Smith Mountain Lake to feed popcorn to the massive carp that gather around the docks. All popcorn sales are donated to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia.

The famous wrestler and actor has made over 650 kids’ wishes come true to date, and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping anytime soon.

Bridgewater Marina in Franklin County is helping children’s wishes become a reality.

Simply by writing a letter to Santa, you can help Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. During Macy’s “National Believe Week,” the company will donate $2 to Make-A-Wish for every letter written to Santa. National Believe Week ends on Saturday, December 5, at which time Macy’s will go back to donating $1 per letter until December 24. It’s a simple, yet powerful way to help the nonprofit that makes the wishes and dreams of sick children come true. The partnership with Make-A-Wish is part of Macy’s 13th Annual Believe Campaign.

There are 287 children in Virginia waiting for their wishes to be granted, 30 of them live in Southwest Virginia. It boils down to they have to have money to grant these wishes, Beck said. but president and CEO Sheri Lambert explains the need to grant wishes is now greater than ever.
